NextGen Forest Ambassadors stewardship program is for teens ages 14-16. Selected applicants host a youth summit, name obstacles to nature and actionable solutions, learn from expert conservationists, and plan and execute stewardship projects with 1-1 mentoring from land managers. This program is free for participants, provides gear as needed, and offers a $100 stipend upon successful completion of all program elements. This program is hosted by Georgia Mountains Children’s Forest Network, a collaboration between Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests, Appalachian Trail Conservancy, Georgia Appalachian Trail Club, and Greening Youth Foundation. Applications are due by April 30th.

The Georgia Governor’s Honors Program (GHP) is a residential summer program for gifted and talented high school students who will be rising juniors and seniors during the program. The program offers instruction that is significantly different from the typical high school classroom. It is designed to provide students with academic, cultural, and social enrichment necessary to become the next generation of global critical thinkers, innovators, and leaders.
