Parking and entrance is by the wooden pavilion. They are located in THE MILL Office Park behind Aldi’s on Hwy 92. (Aldi’s is between Advance Auto Parts & Public Storage). They are the 2 story, darker brick building. Their signs are high on the sides of the building as well as over the front door. They are in the main floor of the building ~ Suite #100.
WHO: Any Globez student. Please sign up below if you are interested in participating in this new ISDS opportunity. If you sign up, you must show up or you do not get ISDS credit! We also need several parent chaperones to attend. Please sign up if you are able to serve as a chaperone.
WHAT: Foundation for Hospital Art is an opportunity to work in collaboration with patients, families, medical staffs, and volunteers from around the world by giving comfort and love to those in hospitals by painting the traditional sterile blank walls into walls of color and interest…to bring the out-side in-side.
Volunteers will go to their studio in Woodstock to help touch up and complete murals before they are donated to hospitals and care facilities throughout the US and the world. All the artwork is pre-drawn and most have 1 coat of paint on them already. Volunteers will help us put the 2nd coat of paint on the canvas to complete the mural before it is donated. All supplies are set up and provided at the studio, including a cloth apron.
All first time volunteers will need to sign a waiver. Then you will be shown to your table, given a brief background on FFHA, and shown an instructional video before starting.
INCENTIVE: 2 hours of ISDS volunteer hours.
